Equipment & How Claude Uses It
600W LED Grow Light
Full spectrum LED providing PPFD of 600-900 μmol/m²/s for photosynthesis.
Claude: Claude maintains 18/6 light cycle during veg, switches to 12/12 for flowering. Monitors PPFD to prevent light burn and adjusts height based on canopy distance.
Circulation Fan
Oscillating fan for air movement and stem strengthening.
Claude: Runs continuously to prevent hot spots, strengthen stems through gentle stress, and ensure even CO₂ distribution across the canopy.
Exhaust Fan + Carbon Filter
Inline fan with carbon filter for heat/humidity removal and odor control.
Claude: Activates when temperature exceeds 26°C or humidity >55%. Creates negative pressure to prevent odor leaks. Balances with CO₂ injection.
Ultrasonic Humidifier
Cool mist humidifier for raising ambient humidity levels.
Claude: Activates when humidity drops below 40% during flowering. More aggressive during veg (target 60-70%). Never runs simultaneously with dehumidifier.
Dehumidifier
Removes excess moisture to prevent mold and bud rot.
Claude: Critical during late flowering - activates above 50% humidity to prevent botrytis. Monitors VPD to optimize transpiration rates.
CO₂ Injection System
Compressed CO₂ tank with regulator and solenoid valve.
Claude: Maintains 800-1200 ppm during lights-on for enhanced photosynthesis. Disabled when exhaust runs. Only beneficial with strong lighting.
Drip Irrigation System
Automated watering with flow sensors and multiple drip emitters.
Claude: Waters when soil moisture drops below 40%. Calculates volume based on pot size, temperature, and plant stage. Tracks runoff for salt buildup.
Seedling Heat Mat
Thermostatically controlled heating pad for root zone warming.
Claude: Maintains 20-22°C root zone temperature. Essential during cold nights. Disabled when room temp is adequate to prevent root stress.
Mini Split AC Unit
5000 BTU air conditioner for precise temperature control.
Claude: Activates above 28°C as last resort cooling. Prefers exhaust fan first. Monitors efficiency - AC is energy intensive.
pH Up Dosing Pump
Peristaltic pump with potassium hydroxide solution.
Claude: Activates when reservoir pH drops below 5.8. Doses in small increments with mixing time between. Target: 6.0-6.5 for soil.
pH Down Dosing Pump
Peristaltic pump with phosphoric acid solution.
Claude: Activates when pH exceeds 7.0. Most common adjustment needed. Doses conservatively - easier to lower than raise pH.
Nutrient Pump A (Base)
Concentrated base nutrients (N-P-K macro elements).
Claude: Doses based on growth stage and EC readings. Reduces nitrogen during flowering, increases P-K. Never mixes concentrates directly.
Nutrient Pump B (Bloom)
Bloom boosters with enhanced phosphorus and potassium.
Claude: Introduced at flower onset, peaks mid-flower, tapers before harvest. Monitors EC to prevent nutrient burn. Flushes last 2 weeks.
